Well I am on an 8 hour lay over in san fran because united and air canada have scratched a heap of flights to vancouver.

There is a heap of rad old 50's toys and artwork for things like trains and space things like ships robots. When looking at the robots i started humming the Flight of the Conchords song "robots", so awesome.



I also got "randomly selected" for extra flight screening her as well, where the Homeland Security mob pulled me aside and put me in the "puffer" and then swabbed my bag for explosives or something.

All credit to the homeland security people for being compeatly curteous and professional, and the extra screening only took a few minutes.

Getting ready to get out of the shire

It's a scary world out side of the bubble.

I have to dehobbit myself, so here I am, shaving the feet.


Oh, I also packed my bag as well.

Wads of cash

Today I went and picked up my Canadian Dollars from the Post Office that should cover me for my random expenses for the first week or two of my trip.

Pretty pimpin' eh

I noticed with the Canadian bank notes I had, that the Queen's head was only on the $20 note and not on the $50, I hope our Commonwealth brothers are not getting any funny ideas like their southern neighbours.

Thankfully, unlike US notes they are different colours so they should be easy enough to tell apart
